Bismillahi-rahmani-rahim
Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu
Dear brothers and sisters in Islam.
Allah the Glorified said in Quran:
Verily, those who give Sadaqât (i.e. Zakât and alms, etc.), men and women, and lend Allâh a goodly loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credit), and theirs shall be an honourable good reward (i.e. Paradise) (57: 18)
After this introduction you will surely understand that the point of this letter is to ask for some Sadaqa for a very important issue in Islam.
We, the brothers and sisters from Bayreuth (Germany), appeal for help for our mosque.
It is a matter of existence of an only 3-years-old mosque.
It is very big, clean and neat due to many hours of voluntary work - cleaning and renovating. The mosque is a good example of a really Islamic praying room where women and children have also rights that are due to them. Men have their big praying room too as well as a nice holding area.
There are lavatories as well as a professionally arranged restaurant-kitchen.
Women have their own rooms where Islamic Studies and Qur’an classes take place. There is a small shop and a big information room for lectures and video events. Besides that, children also have a good opportunity to learn Quran and play.
Apart from this mosque, there are only another two Turkish mosques, however, only in our mosque the Khutba on Friday is held in both Arabic and German!
The mosque is something special because it was built by not very wealthy students who worked voluntarily. We can easily say that it is a miracle and present from Allah!
But now we are about to lose this present.
The landlord purchased the whole building on credit. The whole building consists of four big shops, two big car parks and a mosque; added together it is about 2600sq.m area which approximately is worth € 1.3 million.
As the landlord could not pay the rent anymore, it was put up for sale in execution on the 17th of June 2009. Alhamdulillah at the first auction, nobody bought the building. The second auction was then on the 16th of December 2009. Even then nobody purchased the building (including our mosque)! Ahamdulillah! This now gives us another 6 months time till the next auction which will take place in June 2010 inshallah.
If we don't want to lose our mosque, we now see only one possibility – to buy the whole complex and to use it for personal requirements. We would like to use the opportunity and make the best out of this situation. But we can only achieve our aim firstly by Allah’s and then by your help; only if we as an Ummah unify and stick together, we could change the whole building into a new Dawa-center for Muslims and non-Muslims, also beyond Bayreuth. We would like to establish a big Islamic library, a kindergarden or a school for Islamic children and a big Halal-food store. Much space for events/presentations could be guaranteed as well.
That’s why we depend on your contribution! Every Euro can bring us closer to our dream – the realization of this project. Our Prophet (peace and bless of Allah be upon him) said: “Never underestimate a good thing (even if it is small)”. May Allah award you for your efforts! Please don’t forget to make dua for us!
Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatulullahi wa barakatuh!
Sincerely your brothers and sisters from Bayreuth Islamic Centre.
